About Me

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. After I graduated from Kanda University of International Studies with a B.A. in English, I worked for an international logistics firm for several years in Japan. My background gave me a profound understanding of the nuances and etiquette inherited in the Japanese business culture.

I have over five years of experience teaching Japanese with a Master’s Degree in Asian Studies (Japanese Language and Pedagogy Emphasis) at California State University, Long Beach. I have been teaching Japanese at an introductory to advanced level. My students ranged anywhere from elementary school children to 60+ years old retirees. Currently, I mainly teach at various universities in the U.S. for undergraduate students.

In my free time, I love to travel all over the world, try new dishes, cook, and hike. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your academic, personal, and career goals!
